What is FEP Polyimide Film?
FEP polyimide film is a composite film where a kapton-type polyimide (PI) base film is coated with FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) fluoropolymer on one side (FH grade) or both sides (FHF grade). The FEP coating makes the film heat sealable — it can be thermally bonded to copper foil or other substrates without adhesives, which is the standard method for manufacturing flexible printed circuit board (FPC) laminates.
FH grade (30–50 μm) is used for single-side bonding; FHF grade (51–100 μm) provides double-side bonding and maximum moisture protection from both surfaces.
